If you want to buy XLM in Indonesia with rupiah, the short list is Pintu, Reku, Triv, Indodax, Upbit Indonesia and Bittime. All six are licensed by OJK as crypto traders (PAKD), and all six had a live XLM/IDR market at our latest check. Tokocrypto, despite being one of the best-known names, lists XLM only against dollar stablecoins. The right choice depends less on the coin than on your bank, your deposit method and whether you plan to move lumens to your own wallet.

This review sticks to what we could verify: licence status, the XLM pairs each platform actually runs, deposit rails and fees where they are published. Where a platform does not publish something, we say so rather than guess. For the wider context on OJK rules and the 0.21% sales tax, read our Stellar Lumens Indonesia guide.

How we checked these listings

Every platform in the table appears on the published lists of licensed PAKDs: the CFX list of 25 licensed members from October 2025 and the updated list of 26 after Luno joined in May 2026. OJK put the total at 28 by September 2026. For XLM pairs we went to the source wherever possible: the public market APIs of Pintu, Reku, Upbit Indonesia and Tokocrypto, Triv’s own market page, and CoinGecko’s ticker feed for Indodax and Bittime, whose sites block automated checks.

One point that confuses many buyers: OJK does not publish a coin-by-coin approval. Under POJK 27/2024 the exchange sets the list of tradable assets and licensed traders may only deal in what is on it. XLM trades on several licensed platforms, which is how we know it is on that list. Licences can change, so check OJK’s published whitelist of licensed players or ojk.go.id before you deposit.

Platform reviews: who sells XLM for rupiah

Indodax XLM

Indodax (PT Indodax Nasional Indonesia) is the oldest and largest local order-book exchange, and its XLM/IDR market was trading actively when we checked. Being a true order book, it suits buyers who want limit orders rather than a one-tap price. Bank transfer and virtual account deposits are standard. We could not verify a current published fee schedule, and some third-party lists mention e-wallet deposits that we could not confirm, so check the fee page inside your account before trading. Indodax’s site also blocks automated tools, which is why we confirmed its pair via CoinGecko.

Pintu XLM

Pintu (PT Pintu Kemana Saja) is aimed squarely at first-time buyers, with an app-first experience and prices shown in rupiah. Its public price feed returned an xlm/idr market at our check, so you can buy lumens directly with rupiah. Pintu’s web fee page did not show readable fee text when we looked, so read the fee line on the order screen before you confirm. For a newcomer who simply wants to “beli XLM” with rupiah and hold it, that focus is the draw.

Reku

Reku (PT Rekeningku Dotcom Indonesia) stands out for transparency. Its published fee schedule lays out two modes. Pro Mode charges 0.1% on buys and 0.1% plus the 0.21% sales tax on sells, with a 0.00555% CFX levy on both sides. Lightning Mode charges no platform fee, just the tax and levy. Deposits by bank transfer and virtual account are free; QRIS costs 0.7%, ShopeePay 1.5%, and OVO, DANA and LinkAja 1.665%, with a Rp10,000 minimum. Rupiah withdrawals start at Rp30,000 with a flat Rp6,500 bank admin fee. Reku’s price API lists “Stellar / XLM” against rupiah.

Triv

Triv (PT Tiga Inti Utama) is the most Stellar-friendly of the group. Its market page lists XLM against both IDR and USDT, and it runs a dedicated Stellar wallet (“Dompet Stellar Triv”) that supports XLM deposits and withdrawals on the network itself. That matters if you plan to move lumens to a self-custody wallet or receive XLM from abroad, because on-chain transfers are the whole point of Stellar’s fast, low-fee payments.

Upbit Indonesia and Bittime

Upbit Indonesia (PT Upbit Exchange Indonesia) carries the Korean brand but is a separate Indonesian entity with its own OJK licence. Its API lists three XLM markets: IDR-XLM, USDT-XLM and BTC-XLM, which gives you a BTC route as well as rupiah and USDT. Bittime (PT Utama Aset Digital Indonesia) quotes XLM against rupiah and USDT, and both pairs were trading on CoinGecko at our check. We could not verify published fee schedules for either, so compare costs in the app.

Tokocrypto, Ajaib, Pluang and other licensed apps

Tokocrypto (PT Aset Digital Berkat), which is affiliated with Binance, is licensed and does list XLM, but only against USDT, USDC and other dollar-linked tokens; it has no XLM/IDR pair. Buying there means converting rupiah into a stablecoin first, paying two spreads instead of one.

Several other licensed apps appear to offer XLM but could not be confirmed live. Ajaib shows XLM in search listings for its Ajaib Alpha crypto menu. Pluang, a multi-asset app for crypto, US stocks and gold, says Stellar is available for 24/7 trading on its converter pages. Nanovest has an XLM page; its App Store text still cites Bappebti, which is out of date since OJK took over. Luno joined the licensed list in May 2026, but we found no XLM/IDR market there. Treat all four as “check in the app first”.

Whichever you pick, rupiah liquidity for XLM is thin across the board. Combined XLM/IDR volume on the platforms CoinGecko tracks was only in the tens of thousands of US dollars per day at our check, so use limit orders for larger amounts and compare against the live XLM price.

Before you deposit, open the app’s fee screen and the withdrawal screen. If XLM withdrawals on the Stellar network are not listed, your lumens can only leave as rupiah.

How to choose the best crypto exchange in Indonesia for XLM

“Best” depends on what you plan to do with the lumens. A buyer who wants to hold XLM on the app and check the price now and then has different needs from someone who wants to withdraw to a hardware wallet or receive XLM from a relative overseas. Run through these checks:

  • Licence: confirm the platform is a licensed PAKD on OJK’s site, not just “registered” in an old app description.
  • Pair: a direct XLM/IDR market saves a conversion step and a spread compared with buying USDT first.
  • Deposit rail: bank transfer and virtual account are often free; e-wallets and QRIS can cost 0.7–1.7% at some platforms.
  • Fees and tax: expect the 0.21% final tax on every sale at any licensed platform; compare platform fees on top.
  • Withdrawals: check that XLM can be withdrawn on the Stellar network, not only sold for rupiah.

Tax is the same everywhere locally: under PMK 50/2025 there is no VAT on purchases and a 0.21% final income tax withheld on sales (DJP). So platform fees and deposit costs are what separate one app from another. A quick example using Reku’s published Pro Mode rates shows why the deposit rail matters. Top up Rp1,000,000 by OVO and the 1.665% charge takes Rp16,650 before you buy anything. The 0.1% trading fee on the purchase is about Rp1,000, and selling the same amount later costs about Rp3,100 in fee plus tax. Top up by virtual account instead and the deposit is free, so the round trip costs roughly a fifth as much.

Withdrawing XLM to your own wallet: the memo step

Keeping lumens on an exchange is convenient, but the coins are not in your control. Moving them to a self-custody wallet takes a minute and costs a fraction of a cent in network fees. Stellar has one quirk to respect: the memo. Exchanges usually ask for a memo so they know which customer to credit, and Stellar supports text, ID and hash memos (Stellar docs).

  1. Set up the destination
Create a wallet such as LOBSTR or another option from our Stellar wallets guide, and copy your public address, which starts with G.
  2. Open the withdrawal screen
In the exchange app, choose XLM and make sure the network is Stellar. Paste the address and double-check the first and last few characters.
  3. Handle the memo correctly
Sending to your own wallet usually needs no memo. Sending to another exchange does: copy its memo exactly, because a missing or wrong memo can delay or lose the deposit.
  4. Mind the 1 XLM minimum and test first
A new Stellar account needs a 1 XLM minimum balance, so the first transfer must cover it. Send a small test amount, confirm it arrives, then send the rest.

The same mechanics work in reverse. If a relative abroad sends you XLM, give them the deposit address and memo from a platform that supports Stellar deposits, such as Triv, and you can sell for rupiah once the lumens arrive. The network settles in about five seconds, though the platform may take longer to credit you. Remember that the price can move while you wait and that the 0.21% tax applies on the sale; our cross-border payments guide explains where Stellar fits alongside traditional remittance services.

Global exchanges and Indonesian users

International exchanges list XLM against many more pairs than local apps do, but they are not licensed by OJK, and the tax treatment differs. Under PMK 50/2025, foreign platforms appointed by the tax office withhold 1% on sales, and on unappointed platforms the seller must pay the 1% themselves, compared with 0.21% on a licensed local trader. OJK has also warned that illegal crypto traders face fines of up to Rp1 trillion and up to 10 years in prison. For most rupiah buyers that makes a local PAKD the natural first stop.

Global platforms still have a role, for example if you already hold an account abroad or want a card purchase. CEX.IO is one long-running option: founded in 2013, it sells XLM by Visa and Mastercard card to verified customers, holds NMLS #1804170 and money-transmitter licences in many US states, and its UK entity is registered with the FCA under the Money Laundering Regulations. Availability varies by country, and we could not confirm whether it currently onboards Indonesian residents, so check before signing up and remember the 1% foreign-platform tax rule. Our guide to buying Stellar Lumens compares the routes, and the XLM regulation and safety page covers the risks of any custodial platform.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best crypto exchange in Indonesia for buying XLM?

There is no single winner. Reku publishes the most complete fee schedule we found, Triv runs a native Stellar wallet for deposits and withdrawals, and Indodax has the longest-running rupiah order book. Pick an OJK-licensed platform with an XLM/IDR pair and a cheap deposit method for your bank.

Does Indodax have XLM?

Yes. Indodax runs an XLM/IDR market, and it was trading actively at our latest check. Check the current fee schedule inside the app, because we could not verify a published rate.

Can I buy XLM on Pintu?

Yes. Pintu's public price feed lists an xlm/idr market, so you can buy Stellar Lumens directly with rupiah. Pintu is an OJK-licensed trader operated by PT Pintu Kemana Saja.

Does Tokocrypto have an XLM/IDR pair?

No. At our latest check Tokocrypto listed XLM only against USDT, USDC and other dollar-linked tokens. To buy XLM there with rupiah you would first buy a stablecoin, then trade it for XLM.

Do I need a memo to withdraw XLM to a wallet?

Only if the receiving address belongs to an exchange or service that asks for one. Exchanges use the memo to credit the right customer, so a missing memo can delay or lose the deposit. A personal self-custody wallet usually does not need one. See our Stellar wallet guide.
